Bryan Hayes gets a medal

Ward 3 Councillor Bryan Hayes, chair of Sault Ste. Marie's 2001 United Way campaign, was one of 18 locals presented tonight with volunteer medallions by MP Carmen Provenzano.

The medallions, crafted by the Royal Canadian Mint, were presented to recognize outstanding service and contributions as volunteers.

Nominations for the special honour were solicited by Provenzano from local community groups.

The MP has also recently sent out signed certificates recognizing the contributions of 4,000 other Sault volunteers.
