On Sunday, June 25, 2017 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be partnering with Safe Communities Partnership, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services and Algoma Public Health to deliver the 12th Annual Kidz Summer Safety Festival at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.  

The Kidz Summer Safety Festival is a family-oriented event designed to educate children on various safety and injury prevention topics geared toward summer activities. The Festival teaches kids about safety strategies for all aspects of summer through interactive educational displays.

This year's Festival is offering over 30 exhibitor booths an inflatable park, a fire truck display, a school bus display, a bicycle rodeo and registration, face painting, and entertainment.  

Kids will have the chance to win some great prizes, including new bicycles, after they have learned about all of the safety topics at the Festival. Families can enjoy pizza and refreshments while learning about the different summer safety strategies.  

The Festival will take place on Sunday, June 25 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.  

Admission is free and the event will take place rain or shine.

Organizations that will offer safety messages through their displays include Safe Communities Partnership, Algoma Public Health, Ontario Provincial Police, Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Fire Services, John Rhodes Community Pool, Electrical Safety Authority, Sault Search and Rescue, the Canadian Bush Plane, Canadian Red Cross, YMCA, First Student, City Emergency Department, Algoma Engineering Society, Child Care Algoma, Algoma Power, Emergency Medical Services, Brain Injury Association, Science North, Customs Border Services Agency, Nogdawindamin, Ministry of Natural Resources, Best Start Hub and Phatboy Fireworks.
