MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

Brimley State Park Beach has been temporarily closed following a test that revealed elevated E. coli bacteria levels.

The closure, issued by the Chippewa County Health Department, is a result of water sample tests taken Thursday, Aug. 25.

Monitoring efforts will continue on a daily basis.

The public will be notified when the beach is reopened. The rest of the park is not affected by the closure.
