Brent St. Denis gets a job

Algoma-Manitoulin MP Brent St. Denis has been chosen chair of the Northern Ontario Liberal Caucus for a one-year term effective immediately.

Algoma-Manitoulin MP Brent St. Denis has been chosen chair of the Northern Ontario Liberal Caucus for a one-year term effective immediately.

"I am pleased and honoured to accept the responsibility of being the chair of the Northern Ontario Caucus," St. Denis said.

"I look forward to working with my caucus colleagues to help meet the challenges that we face in Northern Ontario."

St. Denis said that caucus will be addressing a number of important issues including health care, infrastructure, rural airports, aboriginal issues, regional economic development, and the steel and softwood lumber industries.

Sault MP Carmen Provenzano chaired the Northern Ontario Caucus from 1997 to 1999.
