Bootleg Toy Show takes over Dryer Fire (12 photos)

Local creative types show off their sculpting, 3D printing and repurposing skills

The Dryer Fire Summer Pop-Up Store hosted the Bootleg Toy Show Saturday, bringing out local artisans to show off their work.

Repurposed and repackaged toys, informed by sometimes obscure nods to pop culture, were joined by other local creations that were made by way of using sculpting and 3D printing techniques.

“There’s a huge community online for bootleg toys,” said organizer Cory Bissaillion, who had a table of action figures inspired by pop culture references such as Beetlejuice and Dirty Harry. “It’s starting to pick a lot more in recent years with Instagram and stuff.”
