Starting with this Sunday's WrestleMania X8 event, big-screen pay-per-view wrestling arrives in the Soo this weekend.

The Galaxy Cinema at Station Mall is one of a dozen new locations being added to the World Wrestling Federation's monthly pay-per-view sites, the WWF announced today.

Said Carl DeMarco, president of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Canada: "The success we have had in bringing our live pay-per-view events to movie screens across this country has helped revolutionize the use of theatre screens. Theatres can now offer their clients a wide range of entertainment properties. We are thrilled that World Wrestling Federation Entertainment could popularize this concept in Canada, and we welcome the new partners who are joining our network of monthly theatrical pay-per-view events, as we host WrestleMania X8 in Canada."

WrestleMania X8 takes place Sunday night at Toronto's Skydome. Organizers say it's the highest-grossing single event in WWF history. In fact, Ticketmaster Canada, says it sold more tickets in a shorter period of time to WrestleMania X8 than any other single event in its history, including concerts by the Rolling Stones.

Legendary Hulk Hogan returns

One major draw will be the return of Hulk Hogan (shown above) to the Wrestlemania ring after an absence of almost 10 years.

The pay-per-view closed-circuit event will be offered using direct broadcast satellite technology from Bell ExpressVu.

Pay-per-view tickets are $24.95, available from the Galaxy Cinema box office or the ATM.
