Huey Lewis and the News, Sports 30th Anniversary Tour at Kewadin

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - Huey Lewis and the News is commemorating the 30th Anniversary of their most award winning album, Sports, with their 30th Anniversary Tour which is coming to Kewadin Casinos DreamMakers Theater on June 2! 
 
Tickets for this tour, where fans will hear the band perform the songs from Sports plus many other hits and surprises, go on sale March 15 at 8 a.m.  

Tickets are $54.50 and $48.50.

Peaking at #1 on the Billboard Charts, selling over 10 million copies worldwide, a Grammy Award winner, and a Diamond Award winner in Canada, Sports is the anthem of a generation.  

Over half of the album’s songs (The Heart of Rock and Roll, Heart and Soul, I Want a New Drug, Walking on a Thin Line, If This Is It) were huge hit singles.

They have memorable hooks, and an economical precision.

Sports has struck a chord with audiences of all ages and persuasions.

So many people have special memories associated with this unique collection of songs.  

Huey Lewis and the News are releasing a special digitally re-mastered 30th Anniversary edition of the album, with live bonus tracks.

Huey Lewis and the News members include Huey Lewis (vocals and harmonic), Johnny Colla (saxophone, guitar and vocals), Bill Gibson (drums, percussion and vocals), Sean Hopper (keyboards and vocals), Stef Burns (guitars and vocals), John Pierce (bass), Marvin McFadden (trumpet), Rob Sudduth (tenor saxophone), and Johnnie Bamont (baritone saxophone).

The New York Times has said the band has “masterful practitioners of an eclectic pop-rock that blends the rich harmonies of California rock and the metronomically plucked beat of new wave, with strong rhythm and blues influences, into an ingratiating brew.”
