Come and Join the Fun at the Game On Neighbourhood Street Party!

Residents of the Community Hub Neighbourhoods in partnership with numerous community partners will be hosting the Game On Neighbourhood Street Party on Albion Street (across from Rosedale School) on Thursday, August 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Game On is a Street Party welcoming ALL community members to enjoy a BBQ and play basketball or ball hockey against local service providers and athletes.

Other children's activities will also be available including face painting, bouncy castles, and arts and crafts.

Melissa Ceglie, Social Development Coordinator with Sault Ste. Marie Social Services states emphatically, “The passion of the residents in the community hub neighbourhoods has been inspiring. Through this event, they’ve invited us to come and play in their neighbourhood, and the community has rallied behind them.”

Residents and local agencies will be celebrating their efforts to promote neighbourhood wellbeing over the last year.

Community mobilization builds a better place for us all to work, grow and live.

Sponsorship from numerous local businesses and organizations has made this event possible.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of others”, says Kids Being Kids summer student staff members helping to coordinate this large undertaking. Special guests include Boston Bruins defenseman Colin Miller, along with other professional and local athletes.

Members of the Algoma University CIS basketball team will be in attendance to shoot some hoops and encourage young students.

Sault Ste. Marie Police and other local agency representatives will also suit-up and join in the fun playing ball hockey and basketball.

“We’d love to have the entire community come and witness the good work that is being done in our local neighbourhoods.

This is a celebration and everyone is invited and encouraged to be a part of this special day!” affirms District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services CAO, Mike Nadeau.
