CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE

*********************** Early this morning City Police attended at the Blue Boy Addition on Wellington Street West after an employee of that business was assaulted.

Shortly after midnight the accused was turned away from the business and refused entry since he was intoxicated.

The accused in this matter became upset and threatened to return with a baseball bat.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. the accused returned to the business with two other males and struck the employee with a baseball bat.

A fight ensued in which the employee was then assaulted by the accused and two of his male friends.

The employee was punched and kicked several times in the head and was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

24-year old Jason Alexander Corbiere of 62 Wellington Street West was arrested a short time later.

Mr. Corbiere was on probation at the time with terms to keep the peace and be good.

He has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation.

He will appear in court on November 8.

City Police are continuing their investigation into this matter and it is anticipated that further arrests will be made in relation to the other males involved in the incident.
