Cheerio, an eight-week-old Golden Retriever, was one of the participants in yesterday's 18th Annual Sneaker Day at Group Health Centre.

The active-living pooch was helped along on the one-kilometre fitness walk by Lynnea Lobert (shown) and other members of the Lobert clan.

Group Health Centre has hosted the non-competitive event since 1985.

It's part of the SummerActive fitness activities that take place across the country.

SooToday News attended yesterday's event with the intention of participating in the walk, but found ourselves lured away instead by a Meyer's Munchies smoked sausage.

Our photographer did manage, however, to stop eating long enough to snap the following images of more-active participants.
