HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

*************************
It was an intimate evening with friends and supporters where laughter and stories were shared amongst the enchanting harmonies of Ash and Bloom.

Our amazing local talent Cameron George Aitken treated the audience with a beautiful opening act that set the tone for the rest of the show.

Ash and Bloom (Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal), captivated concert goers with heartfelt and personal songs from their new album Let the Storm Come.

The duo was happily engaging; poking fun at pre-teen hobbies and the quirky relationship they have with the city they call home.

Both kind and talented, the Ash and Bloom performance is one that many will carry with them.

"We are such big supporters of what Habitat is doing in Sault Ste. Marie. We had the privilege of meeting a couple who Habitat had helped and it was so inspiring to put faces to the work. There was an honest joy in their faces that seemed to come from both having a place to call home, and also to be welcomed into the Habitat community. It just deepened our sense of what a privilege it was to partner with Habitat for one night at Loplops," says Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal.

“Matt and James are incredible people to work with. You can tell that they love doing what they do by the way they were able to engage the crowd and had them singing along. Their down to earth personalities made it really easy for us to work with them to make this event a great success. We were able to raise over $800 in funds that help support our Core Build program for our upcoming build in Spring 2015,” says Farrukh Khan, event planning and marketing assistant at Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area.

We would like to thank Steve Alexander at Loplops for donating the space to us for this event, to Case’s Music and Shabby Motlëy Handicraft for their support with ticket sales, and all of the community members that came out to show support and all of the volunteers and staff at Habitat that made this event possible.

We wish Ash and Bloom success for the rest of their tour and we look forward to welcoming them back for future shows.
