APH reports one new COVID case

Positive case is self-isolating, says APH

Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting one new case of COVID-19, from Sault Ste. Marie and area.

The exposure category is listed as unknown, and the person is currently self-isolating, according to APH.

This brings the total number of active cases in the Algoma region to 22.

Through contact tracing, APH notifies all close contacts directly.

If you are not contacted by APH you are not considered a close contact.

To date, the district has reported 248 cases of coronavirus, 226 of which have been resolved. Four people have died as a result of COVID-19, and there is currently one person hospitalized.
