Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting one new case of COVID-19, from Sault Ste. Marie and area.

The exposure category is unknown, the health unit says, and the positive case is currently self-isolating.

This brings the total number of cases reported in Algoma since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to 406.

In addition, APH is advising anyone who visited Chummy’s Grill located at 262 Frontenac Street in Sault Ste. Marie on July 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. of a possible low-risk exposure to COVID-19.

People who visited Chummy’s Grill on the date listed above are asked to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days from potential exposure, self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop, and seek testing if symptoms occur.
