APH reports 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the Sault

Currently 317 active cases, 10 hospitalizations in the region

Algoma Public Health is reporting 30 new cases of COVID-19 today, all from the Sault Ste. Marie area. 

This brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,311. 

Of these new cases, nine have been traced to close contact with a known case, six are of unknown origin, two are linked to international travel and 13 are still under investigation.

There are currently 317 active cases, nine outbreaks and 10 hospitalizations in the region.

Regions within the APH that have reported cases in the last 14 days are:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Central and East Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
