APH reporting two new COVID cases in Sault area

There are eight active cases in the region and one hospitalization as of Friday evening

Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region, both of which are in the Sault Ste. Marie area, bringing the number of cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 483.

Case 482, tested on Oct. 14, was exposed through close contact with a known confirmed case while case 483, tested on Oct. 15, is under the unknown exposure category meaning the individual did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.

Both individuals are currently self-isolating.

There are currently eight active cases in the region and one hospitalization.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID cases in the past two weeks include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • North Algoma
