APH reporting three new COVID-19 cases

The Algoma region currently has 27 active cases and one hospitalization

Algoma Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.

The new cases bring the total number of COVID cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 361.

Of the three new cases, two are in the Sault Ste. Marie area and the third is in central and east Algoma.

All three cases were in individuals tested on Thursday.

The exposure category for all three is close contact, which means the individuals were infected through close contact with a known confirmed case.

All three individuals are currently self-isolating.

There are currently 27 active cases in Algoma and one hospitalization.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID cases in the past 14 days include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Central and east Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • North Algoma
