APH reporting one new COVID case

Algoma Public Health is reporting one new COVID-19 case in the Algoma region.

The new case, which brings the total number of COVID cases in the region since the start of the pandemic to 235, is in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Tested on April 1, the individual was exposed through close contact with a known confirmed case and is currently self-isolating.

The case brings the number of active cases in the region to 14 with no hospitalizations.

Algoma regions with confirmed COVID cases in the past 14 days include:

  • Central and east Algoma
  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Elliot Lake and area
