Algoma Public Health is reporting 77 new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.

The breakdown of cases is:

56 in the Sault Ste. Marie area
10 in north Algoma
seven in central and east Algoma
four in the Elliot Lake area

There are currently 541 active cases in the region as of 3:30 p.m. Saturday, up 61 from Friday's count (480).

The number of hospitalizations remains unchanged from Friday (two).
