APH confirms two new COVID cases in Sault area

Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases, both in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Case No. 456, tested on Sept. 16, is in the exposure category of unknown, which means the individual did not have any close contact with a known confirmed case or international travel.

Case No. 457, tested on Sept. 17, was exposed through close contact with a known confirmed case.

The Sault Ste. Marie area is the lone region in Algoma that has reported COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks.

There are currently 18 active cases in the Algoma region and no hospitalizations as of early Friday evening.
