The actor who entertained many as Mr. Vernon Gaines in the TV sitcom A Different World has died in West Virginia.
The show aired from 1987 until 1993.
Lou Myers, who was 77, also had roles on ER, JAG and NYPD Blue.
In addition, he worked on stage and appeared in movies.
Film credits include How Stella Got Her Groove Back and The Wedding Planner.
A respected musician, Myers played the piano and sang jazz and blues.
