**************************** Yesterday afternoon 18-year-old Andrew Richards of 79 Pilgrim Street was apprehended by security officers at the Zellers Store in the Station Mall.

It is alleged that the accused put on a new pair of running shoes, placed his old shoes in the shoebox and left the store wearing the new shoes.

He was apprehended and turned over to City Police.

Mr. Richards was on a probation order at the time of this theft.

He has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

He will appear in court on October 4th.

A 17-year-old young person who also tried the same trick yesterday at the same store was apprehended and turned over to City Police.

The young person will appear in court on October 5th after being charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

*********************** Yesterday afternoon Daniel Miller, age 27, of 205-222 Albert Street West was apprehended by staff members of RJ’s Market on Wellington Street West after a staff member observed the accused putting assorted cold meats and cheese, worth $286 in a duffle bag.

Staff prevented the male from leaving the store and City Police were called.

Mr. Miller was on probation at the time of the offence with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Mr. Miller has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation.

He has a court date of October 4th.
