Andrew Gazdik's neighbours take away his car keys

********************* Concerned citizens call police

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - On October 28 at approximately 10:35 a.m. police attended the area of Beaumier Crescent in regards to a possible impaired driver.

Investigation revealed that witnesses reported seeing the suspect backed out of his driveway, across the street and onto the lawn of the neighbours.

The suspect then allegedly pulled away jumping curbs and going across lawns.

The vehicle came to a stop when it hit stone steps.

The complainants approached the driver, shut the vehicle off and removed the keys.

The suspect re-attended his residence and police were called.

When police attended the residence, the suspect became uncooperative and attempted to resist arrest.

Charged with the following is Andrew Gazdik, 67, of Elliot Lake.

- impaired driving - failure to provide a breath sample - assault with intent to resist arrest - driving while under suspension

Gazdik is scheduled to appear in court on December 16.
