Effective Nov. 5, all members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, unless they have an approved exemption, will have received the recommended COVID vaccinations.

“We bear a responsibility to protect the community in every way possible,” says Chief Hugh Stevenson in a press release. “No member of the Service will have direct contact with a member of the public, unless they are vaccinated in accordance with Public Health recommendations and regulations.”

The release says the Sault Ste. Marie Police Association, which represents uniform and civilian members, and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Senior Officers Association, which represents executive leadership members, supports this process.
