Algoma Public Health reports 34 new cases of COVID-19

There are currently 271 active cases, and six hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the Algoma Public Health region

Algoma Public Health is reporting 34 new cases of COVID-19.

Of those cases, 29 are in Sault Ste. Marie and area, and five are in Central and East Algoma.

One of these cases is linked to international travel, two are from an unknown source, 14 are linked to close contact with a known case of COVID-19 and 17 are under investigation.

This brings the total number of cases to 1529 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 271 active cases, and six hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the Algoma Public Health region.

Algoma regions with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Central and East Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
