Algoma Public Health reports 22 new cases of COVID-19 and one low risk public exposure

Algoma Public Health is reporting 22 new cases of COVID-19 today, and one low risk public exposure.

If you were at New American602 Bay St, Sault Ste. Marie, on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., APH recommends you self monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days from the date of potential exposure.

If symptoms develop, self-isolate and get tested as soon as possible.

Of the new cases reported today, 19 were in the Sault, and three were in Central and East Algoma.

Three of the cases are from unknown sources, 10 were traced to close contact with a known cases of COVID-19 and nine are under investigation by APH.

These cases bring the total number of cases to 1495 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 263 active cases, 11 outbreaks and five hospitalizations in the Algoma Public Health region.
