Algoma Public Health reporting 22 new COVID cases in Algoma

There are 260 active cases in the region and eight hospitalizations

Algoma Public Health is reporting 22 new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.

The new cases include 20 in the Sault area and two in central and east Algoma.

Of the new cases, 12 are still under investigation to determine how the individual was exposed to COVID while six were exposed through close contact with a confirmed case and the other four individuals have an unknown source of infection.

The new cases bring the number of active cases in Algoma to 260 and eight hospitalizations.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID cases in the past 14 days include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • Central and east Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
