The City of Sault Ste. Marie’s Public Works and Engineering Services Department is advising motorists that Albert Street between Andrew Street and Gore Street will be closed Oct. 25 for a three-day period to facilitate ongoing construction in the area.

Director of Engineering Don Elliott informed SooToday via email that the City is in the process of converting the eastbound approach to the Gore-Albert intersection to one lane.

“There are temporary barriers in place to accomplish this and the construction project will make it permanent with concrete curbs,” Elliott said.

Signage will be posted to direct traffic through the area along designated detour routes.

Motorists are urged to be cautious and obey all detour signage.
