Accident near casino sends three to hospital

Three people were sent to hospital after an accident that demolished two vehicles near Casino Sault Ste. Marie, City police report tonight. The accident happened at 4:12 p.m. at John and Queen Streets.

Three people were sent to hospital after an accident that demolished two vehicles near Casino Sault Ste. Marie, City police report tonight.

The accident happened at 4:12 p.m. at John and Queen Streets.

Police say that a 1989 Ford Ranger driven by Vincent Chilelli, 47, was leaving the casino parking lot and proceeding north on John Street.

Chilelli's vehicle collided with a 1995 Chevrolet driven westbound on Queen by Melinda McKay, 23.

The Ford Ranger rolled and came to a halt on John Street, police said.

Three people were taken to Sault Area Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

Charges are pending against two individuals, police said.
