78-year-old man charged after tussle with caregiver

********************* Local man charged after altercation with caregiver

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - On January 2, 2005 the East Algoma OPP attended a residence in the Elliot Lake area regarding a possible assault.

Investigation completed and a 78-year-old Elliot Lake man has been charged with the following in regards to an incident in his home;

- possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes

- assault with a weapon

- utter threat to cause death or bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on February 1 2005.

The victim, a caregiver, sustained minor injuries during the altercation.

********************** Break-in spoils holidays (Elliot Lake, Ont.) - Police are investigating a Break and Enter on Timmins Road in Elliot Lake.

Sometime between January 2, 2005 and January 4, 2005 unknown person(s) entered an apartment and stole various items.

Missing is a VCR, Walkman, video camera and cash.
