(Kirkland Lake, Ontario) – A $50,000 reward has been offered by the Government of the Province of Ontario for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of a Kirkland Lake man in the fall of 2004.

The OPP had responded to a 911 call at a Main Street residence in Kirkland Lake on October 18, 2004, where they found Serge Lefebvre, 42, on the lawn suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was taken to hospital and subsequently airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto where he later died.

An extensive investigation is continuing by the Ontario Provincial Police, under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Pritchard of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Orillia.

Investigators believe the murder may be drug related and may have involved more than one person.

Police have interviewed numerous people who have provided information that was helpful to the investigation.

The OPP believes there may be other individuals with information and that the reward will assist in having them come forward.
