To celebrate the life, music and extraordinary career of a music pioneer, Cineplex will host special screenings of Purple Rain at select theatres across the country on Monday, May 2.

The 1984 film starring Prince as a young musician from an abusive home, will show at Galaxy Cinemas in Sault Ste. Marie at 7 p.m.

Directed by Albert Magnoli, Purple Rain also stars Apollonia Kotero and Morris Day.

A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to MusiCounts, Canada's music education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).
