The Soo Sings for Kids entertains with workplace glee to support kids charities

Workplace glee and children’s charities were the big winners last night as seven workplaces hit the stage and performed to a very enthusiastic audience.

Featuring over 100 performers from Algoma District School Board/ Grandview elementary school Benny and the Jets, Algoma Public Health team Encore, Arthur Funeral Home The Tributes, City of Sault Ste Marie/Innovation Centre team Collective Voices, The Children’s Aid Society Rock Society, Children’s Rehabilitation Centre Algoma Team Ignite, and Huron Superior District Catholic School Board Harmonies for Hope.

1st place - Team Ignite won $5,000 for their foundation. (second year in a row)

2nd place (tie) - Encore won $2,500 for their Infant Child Development program; Harmonies for Hope won $2,500 for the CAP unit at SAH

3rd place - The Tributes won $2,000 for Canadian Tire Jumpstart

All the other teams won $1,000 for their charities.

Timothy Murphy was dynamic as the evening’s host, and fostered an intimate feeling of community from a full house.

The charities represented this year are; The Sault Ste Marie Chapter of Autism Ontario, CAS Youth in Care Education Assistance Fund, Children’s Rehabilitation Centre, Algoma Public Health Infant Child Development program, Sault Area Hospital Child Adolescent Psychiatry Unit, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and Easter Seals.

The teams and audience danced out of the theatre to the popular song Happy, which summed up the feeling of the evening.
