He brought a lot of clips, in fact. After 15-plus years of hosting his own show on the CBC Network, Rick Mercer has been party to some of the funniest clips to ever air on television, Canadian or otherwise.

Mercer was kind enough to share some of his best clips – featuring Bob Rae's bum, Pierre Berton rolling a joint, and a bungee-jumping Rick Hansen – with Sault Ste. Marie Friday evening at the Community Theatre Centre. His new stage show, Rick Mercer's Canada: Coast to Coast to Coast, celebrates the nation through satire and humour as the country commemorates its sesquicentennial anniversary of Confederation.

His 90-minute performance, hosted by the Welcome Friend Association, was in support of the Rainbow Camp for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer questioning, 2 spirited and plus (LGBTQ2+) youth and their families.
