VIDEO: White Pines virtual music showcase highlights local young talent

This is the 4th online event hosted by the school's music department since the pandemic began

The White Pines music department recently hosted its 4th virtual music showcase since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic just over a year ago.

"Our music department teachers and students have worked hard with Algoma Public Health and school administration to deliver some singing, playing, and creative presentations that still follow all of the COVID protocols and guidelines," said representatives from the White Pines Music Department in an email to SooToday. "All singers and wind instrument musicians are playing with barriers in between them, physical distancing, and masks. Where masks are not possible, distancing of more than 12 feet has been observed."

"There are members of the Pine Tones, the White Pines Concert Band, and a bunch of new talent here," they explained. "We hope Sault music lovers can tune in and enjoy some up and coming talent performing in a virtual setting."
