A play about gentle guidance and comfort will be held at Sir James Dunn on Wednesday and Thursday, June 1st and 2nd.

"Tiger Flowers" is a beautiful story that deals with two very sensitive topics: death of a loved one and the issue of AIDS. The play, written by David Jamieson, is based on children's book of the same name written by Patricia Quintlins.

Quintlins' tale is based around a boy named Joel, who is learning to deal with grief through his uncle, who is dying of AIDS. This story is about holding on to memories and learning to deal with the loss of a loved one. It also deals sensitively with the tragedy of AIDS.

The play focuses on Joel's progress in dealing with his own emotions, as well as how the family finds solace in openly talking about their grief and keeping their uncle alive in their hearts and minds.

Patricia Quinlan has written several other children's books, including "Anna's Red Sled".

Admission for "Tiger Flowers" is free. Tickets and seating are limited.

The play is being hosted by Sir James Dunn's Grades 11 and 12 Drama Class of Ms. Mary Carter.
