'9 to 5: The Musical' opens tonight at the Sault Community Theatre Centre

The Musical Comedy Guild is set to open Dolly Parton’s hit theatre production 9 to 5: The Musical tonight at the Sault Community Theatre Centre. The show runs until April 15 with four performances – Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2 p.m.

Based on the 1980 film starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton, 9 to 5: The Musical is the story of three working women, eager to bust through the glass ceiling, who team up to overthrow their "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" boss. The production hit Broadway in 2009, receiving 15 Drama Desk Award nominations and four Tony Award nominations.

Directed and choreographed by Lucas Beaver with musical direction by Rony Dal Cin, the Musical Comedy Guild’s production of 9 to 5 The Musical features Darla Pirillo as Violet, Kara Colynuck as Doralee, Olivia O'Shea as Judy, John Dedes as Franklin Hart, and Donna Hilsinger as Roz Keith.

Tickets are available at the Community Box Office in the Station Mall, by telephone at 705-945-7299, or online.
