SooToday received the following notice from organizers of the very popular An Evening At Hogwarts event. This year's annual Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser – An Evening at Hogwarts: Prisoner of Azkaban – was scheduled to take place at The Machine Shop on Saturday, Nov. 7. Tickets for the 2020 had not yet gone on sale.

After careful consideration, and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone An Evening at Hogwarts: Prisoner of Azkaban until fall of 2021.

Our Canadian Cancer Society fundraising event relies heavily on the support of volunteers, local business sponsorships and donations. Given these financially challenging and uncertain times, rescheduling our event will enable us to provide the experience that our participants, partners, and volunteers expect and deserve, in a safe environment. We are heartbroken and know this is a very burdensome time for everyone, so we appreciate your understanding and support.

In an effort to keep the magic of Hogwarts alive, we will also be working with our partners to host small scale Harry Potter themed fundraising events over the year, when it will be safe to do so. We will share more information about our plans as details are finalized in the coming months on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at An Evening at Hogwarts: Prisoner of Azkaban event on November 6, 2021.

Until then, stay safe and healthy.
Your Hogwarts Alumni
