Other Rock For Dimes participating communities include Vancouver, Calgary, London, Windsor, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax, among others.

Presented by the United Way Sault Ste. Marie and District and March of Dimes Canada, the annual event supports programs and services for local residents with disabilities such as March of Dimes Conductive Education and Stroke Recovery Canada programs.

Participating bands in the Sault Ste. Marie music showcase hosted at the Delta Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront Hotel were Late Shift, Haggith, Mourning Wood, The Elements, Mannapool, Thrill Junkies, and Redundant.

Since Rock for Dimes first began, the event has raised more than $1 million in support of the United Way Sault Ste. Marie and District and March of Dimes Canada.

Funds raised at the most recent Sault Ste. Marie event is just shy of its $7,000 target at $6,200.
