The barfly's perspective: Bocephus King live

Bocephus King is as much about music as it is about an old Bogart film. Their songs are filled with characters that are both lovelorn and jaded, as well as being surrounded by a collection of "whores, pill poppers and drunkards.

Bocephus King is as much about music as it is about an old Bogart film. Their songs are filled with characters that are both lovelorn and jaded, as well as being surrounded by a collection of "whores, pill poppers and drunkards." BK has a working class approach to their craft with the collective soul of a barfly.

The band is fronted by a charismatic character named Jamie Perry who has been recently featured both on the covers of magazines as well as the pages inside. BK is on tour in support of their new CD entitled "All Children Believe in Heaven".

Their previous CD, "The Blue Sickness", received both national and international acclaim that saw them tour Italy and the Netherlands four times, performing a stunning showcase at the SXSW, and yielded them two videos in high rotation on MuchMoreMusic.

Bocephus King will be at the Downbeat Lounge on Tuesday, March 1st. Craig West (of Startlefish) will be opening the show. For more information on Bocephus King, click here.

The Downbeat Lounge is located at 740 Queen Street East (across from PUC). For more information on the Downbeat Lounge, click here. There is a $5.00 cover. Music starts around 10:30 PM.
