Performers included Classified, Dean Brody, Matt Mays, OneRepublic, Tegan and Sara, The Sheepdogs, Walk Off The Earth, and a world premiere exclusive taped performance by Arcade Fire.

The broadcast also featured special guest appearances by A Tribe Called Red, Commander Chris Hadfield, Jim Cuddy, July Talk, Shad, the Honourable Shelly Glover, Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Gold Medallists in Women’s Curling, The Sadies and more.

This year, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is pleased to announce that Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida are the recipients of the 2014 Allan Waters Humanitarian Award; Frank Davies as the recipient of the 2014 Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals who have made an impact on the Canadian music industry; and that Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) are the 2014 inductees into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
