Teachers, parents come together to make Dance Core recital a reality (4 photos)

Entire recital was filmed, routines recorded for two virtual competitions this summer

When it comes to giving up, Miss Sandra Dewar and Miss Tiffany Gallivan do not relate well to that method of thinking. With drive and determination, Dance Core Inc. made it possible for their students to dance together again in person.

Throughout this entire pandemic, the directors of Dance Core Inc. made it their goal to get their kids on a stage again. Countless plans were delayed and pushed back as the government kept imposing more rules and extending the lockdowns. Everyone was on stand-by.

As soon as the green light was given to gather safely (adhering to all government rules and regulations) and in the proper way, it was GO time. Dance floors were constructed, tents were put up, video and music productions were set. All teachers had hands on deck. For seven weeks students had been rehearsing using zoom and now it was time to shine.

“It was definitely a surreal feeling to see all our students again. They were so excited to be back on a stage and perform their routines. Our staff made them feel super comfortable and were integral parts of making this a success.”

Given the restrictions, parents were not able to watch the performances. However, they were more than willing to do whatever was necessary to make it possible.

“We have the best parents! We know that this is not the way that they wanted the year to end, especially for those that had children in their first or last dance recital. However, they helped us pull this off and we cannot thank them enough.”

With the help of Event Tents, Accretive (Village Media), and Dan Bisson (equipment rental), an entire recital was filmed, and routines were recorded for two virtual competitions that the studio will be participating in this summer.

The link to watch the show will be available for customers to watch and share with their family and friends.
