The 2014 Old Town Hall Concert Series in Hilton Beach opened last Wednesday, August 6 with a stunning showcase from Toronto's Tia Brazda.

The near-sold out performance included a number of jazz-infused originals checkered with re-imagined covers of Chris Isaac, Madonna, and others.

With only one EP currently available, booking Brazda for the annual series was a bit of a risk, Jake Cormier, president of the Old Town Hall Concert Series, told SooToday.com.

But he had confidence in the loyal series followers, and discovering new talent is his favourite part of being involved.

"Tonight's concert was fantastic. It was one of my favourites we've had in 54 concerts," Cormier said.

The 19th annual Old Town Hall Concert Series continues this Wednesday, August 13 with Johannes Linstead, and Lunch At Allen's on Wednesday, August 20.

While the Lunch At Allen's performance has been sold out for some time, tickets are still available for Johannes Linstead.

It was announced during Brazda's performance that Canadian pianist Michael Kaeshammer has been confirmed for the 2015 Old Town Hall Concert Series.
