Sunrise Records celebrates official grand opening

Sunrise Records has officially opened 80 stores across the country and is holding grand opening celebrations on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1 inclusive, including their Sault Ste. Marie location in Station Mall. Celebrations will include snacks, giveaways (from limited-edition merch to signed vinyl, and more), and special discounts for every customer. 

In conjunction with the official grand opening, Sunrise Records has announced its first Local Artist Contest. This contest gives the opportunity for emerging artists to have their music distributed across the country in an exciting two-tiered contest.

Hopeful bands/artists will enter through an online form and then enter a voting period. From the top 10 most-voted artists, a panel of Sunrise judges will determine a winner for a grand prize and a runner-up prize.

The grand prize includes the winning band/artist’s music pressed on 500 LPs and 500 CDs with nationwide distribution, a custom plaque, promotion via Sunrise channels, and more. The runner-up prize includes the winning band/artist’s music on 500 CDs with regional distribution, plus social media support. 

Sunrise Records is committed to supporting local bands, artists, and venues across Ontario. In addition to partnerships with venues in support of local shows, Sunrise offers consignment deals on any retail-ready CDs, vinyl, or cassettes by local artists who do not have current label distribution.
