NEWS RELEASE

SAULT THEATRE WORKSHOP

***************************
Sault Theatre Workshop is presenting its spring production, Soldier's Heart by David French, directed by Brent Vallee, at the Studio Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday, May 7 to 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday May 11 at 2 p.m.

Soldier's Heart is an award winning Canadian play about the Mercer family from Newfoundland.

With Soldier's Heart, French looks back in time at the thoroughly alienated 16-year-old Jacob, portrayed by Phoenix Deschene, standing on a railway platform, his suitcase and one-way ticket in hand.

His father Esau, played by Chris Horsepool, a veteran of the First World War, suffers from Soldier's Heart, what we now call PTSD.

Esau's friend Bert, played by Neil McLean, handles his war-time experience in an different manner.

Jacob confronts his father about his experiences in the Great War that still haunt the family eight years later.

Reserved seat tickets, costing $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $7 for students, are available by calling Sandra at 705-946-4081, Gail at 705-946-4513 or drop by Madonna's in Station Mall.
