Small crowd. Big, big metal (15 photos)

Despite somewhat disappointing attendance, Johnny Pints Presents hosted what will likely be the best and most impressive metal line up to hit Sault Ste. Marie this year last week at the Canadian Night Club.

Despite somewhat disappointing attendance, Johnny Pints Presents hosted what will likely be the best and most impressive metal line up to hit Sault Ste. Marie this year last week at the Canadian Night Club.

Co-headlined by Anciients and Havok as two separate Canadian tours met in the Sault, the show also included sets from Wretched, Black Wizard, and locals The Revolution.

Vancouver's Anciients has enjoyed critical success after touring with Lamb of God last year, finding themselves on the 2013 Polaris Music Prize long list, and receiving a Juno nomination for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year in 2014.

Formed in 2004 in Denver, Colorado, Havok has toured extensively and shared stage time with such metal greats as Sepultura, Anthrax, The Casualties, Skeletonwitch, Testament and countless others.

The band's 2013 release Unnatural Selection charted at No. 44 on Billboard's independent album chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart.

Havok and Wretched continue their tour to Canada's east coast before heading to Europe in July.
