NEWS RELEASE
SHADOWS OF THE MIND FILM FESTIVAL
*********************************
The Shadows of the Mind Film Festival will be screening the uplifting film, A Street Cat Named Bob, this Saturday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at The Grand Theatre at 641 Queen St. E. Admission is by donation.

A Street Cat Named Bob was a kick-off title for the film festival’s 20th anniversary season back in February, but a major snow storm forced organizers to cancel the screening.

“We promised to reschedule. There was a good crowd planning to see this one, so we’re glad we’ve been able to organize this screening,” explains festival programmer, Bill MacPherson. “It’s a hopeful story.”

Set in London, England, A Street Cat Named Bob is based on the amazing true story and best-selling book of the same name. James Bowden was a busker and recovering drug addict whose life was transformed when he met a stray ginger cat. The movie runs 103 minutes and is suitable for ages 12 and older.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday and the Grand Theatre concession will be open for beverages and snacks.

Shadows of the Mind Film Festival is the Sault’s film festival and is completely volunteer run. It provides insights into mental health, addictions and current social issues through the lens of exciting, unique and entertaining movies and documentaries.

For information, visit here or follow Shadows on Facebook. The Summer Shadows lineup of family friendly movies screened under the stars will be announced later in June.
