Serving Startlefish: Unplugged at Loplops Thursday

Local favourites Startlefish will be playing a very special acoustic show at Loplops, Thursday October 7th. Although most Startlefish performances mix electric and acoustic elements together, this show promises to have a distinctly softer edge.

Fronted by Craig West on guitar, Startlefish also features Christopher Walls on the bass guitar and Ed Young on drums and percussion. All three Startlefishermen sing.

The band will be performing an evening's worth of music in a style similar to what they played at this past summer's Lost Loon Music Festival on St. Joe's Island. To hear recordings of Startlefish at that festival, visit the band's official website here.

Although Startlefish perform mostly original material and try to promote awareness of original music in Sault Ste. Marie, the band adds in a selection of interesting covers by artists like the Waterboys, David Bowie, and Lou Reed.

The trio have a CD tentatively scheduled for release December 2004.
