The North Shore Recreational Committee presents Ribfest on June 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Lake Lauzon Beach in Algoma Mills. This year's organizers have added a beer garden and fireworks to the already popular event, in addition to the volleyball tourney, canoe rides, strong-man show, and kids zone that are already annual staples.

As well, the OPP Commissioner's Pipes and Drum band will be making an appearance alongside some excellent local live entertainment.

The undisputed centrepiece of the event is the rib contest. A $25 ticket gets you 12 pieces of ribs and a voting ballot to pick your favourites.

Otherwise, the surrounding event is free and for all ages, located on beautiful Lake Lauzon Beach!

Fireworks show to be launched just after dusk, and will be presented by Phatboy Fireworks Sault Ste. Marie.

The inaugural beer garden is now sponsored by Molson.

“We are proud and excited to be invited to do the pyro for this bonanza. It’s an actual competition with local meat and teams. A celebration of ribs and the people who cook them. That’s why we grabbed our bibs and jumped at the chance to sponsor the fireworks display,” said Mark of Phatboy fireworks.

Additionally from the Sault is Service Rental and Sales, coming both as a rib competitor and with the all new Mahindra Retriever to show off!
