Beginning this Thursday, the Art Gallery of Algoma will be featuring a special exhibition of prison beds (amongst other recycled objects).

The exhibition by Amanta Scott and David Tomlinson, entitled "Lock Down", will be running from May 12th until June 4th at the AGA.

Scott and Tomlinson, of "Glove Forest" and "Arising Phoenix" fame, created this installation made up of nine sculptures, comprised of prison beds, air vents and other recycled objects. These installations were created in association with Public Works Government Canada Services and Corrections during the winter of 2004.

The installation will be used as a catalyst for community workshops, being held from June 10th until June 16th, dealing with the integration of sculpture, percussion, and movement. More detail on these workshops will be available soon.

A special "Meet The Artists Reception" will be held on Thursday, May 12th beginning at 7:30 pm.
