People still asking about Sean Paul refunds

The Machine Shop, which wasn't at all involved in the ill-fated concert, says it is 'continuously' being contacted by people who want their money back

This note greets those who head to the Sean Paul concert event page on a site operated by Glixee

It fizzled days before it was supposed to happen, but rap-reggae star Sean Paul's spring concert in the Sault just won't seem to go away.

More than two months after organizers pulled the plug on the May 17 event, people are apparently still trying to get their money back.

The Machine Shop, which is located next to the originally scheduled concert venue but wasn't at all involved in the Sean Paul gig, issued a press release to make it very clear that it wasn't involved after 'continuously' being contacted by fans looking for a refund.

"The Machine Shop is not in any way connected to The Yard. The Machine Shop is not in any way connected to The Pulp Tower building. The Machine Shop events are held in our venue only," reads the statement from The Machine Shop. "We are aware that this is a frustrating situation and hope this press release offers some clarification as to our non involvement."

Erik Nielsen, who promoted the event under the company name EN Productions, pledged back in May that "everyone will get their refund," for the show, which he has said was cancelled because of issues with the site that had created "a potential health and safety concern for the artists and concert goers."

A website for the concert lists the event as having been 'postponed', suggesting an August or September date for the rescheduled show. SooToday could not find a link offering refunds.

Glixee, a ticket service that hosts the Sean Paul concert site, has posted a notice to the EN Productions page acknowledging "outstanding pending refunds from this event organizer" and asking for patience.

"We will continue to follow up with them until these are completed," reads the note.

SooToday was not immediately able to contact Nielsen through the phone number listed on the site.

No new date has been announced and a Facebook page for the Sean Paul show continues to advertise the May 17 event.
